Enjoy one of the most iconic Christmas movies at the historic Capitol II Theatre in downtown Newton this holiday season.
The 1954 classic "White Christmas" will be showing for free at Capitol II thanks to sponsors United Way of Jasper County and Window World of Des Moines & Cedar Rapids.
The movie is about a successful song-and-dance team who become romantically involved with a sister act and team up to save the failing Vermont inn of their former commanding general just in time for Christmas. The film features Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen.
The title track "White Christmas," written by Irving Berlin, remains the best selling song of all time with 50 million singles sold.
